Service Description

Whale season in Algoa Bay starts in June. Humpback whales are seen from June to January, with peaks in July/August and November/December. Southern right whales visit July to October, often close to shore to give birth. Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are seen year-round, while common dolphins (in huge groups) appear January to June. Humpback dolphins are spotted in summer in small groups. St Croix Island hosts 3000 African penguins, with peak breeding March to May. The island, part of a Marine Protected Area, also shelters rare birds like the African black oystercatcher. Land access is restricted, but you’ll get close views from the boat. Includes: Pick up at accommodation at around 7:30am Light snacks are served onboard. Drop off at accommodation after tour has concluded around 12/30pm or 1 pm.
